When a mold infected area has been found, it is always very unfortunate and causes immense nuisance and unpleasantness in the household. When mold in the basement has been discovered, it causes even more shock and disappointment. Basements of the house are an area of the house that is not frequently visited, making it unlikely for any individual to notice any initial stages of mold formation.

Black mold is quite serious, and not enough people understand how serious black mold can be. During college there was a black mold outbreak in my dorm — a close friend of mine actually developed a mold allergy due to constant mold exposure. He was eventually hospitalized when his throat closed up. Mold is serious and needs to be treated as such.

Black mold is foul in so many ways. The sight and smell of it is sickening and it might really make you sick. The only way to really keep it away is through constant dehumidification.
